Christmas 2008

We had a unbelievably BUSY Christmas but even through all the running around Savannah was a trooper.  We began Christmas Eve by making cookies for Santa.  Savannah loved helping.  We then went to Decatur to my aunt and uncle's to have Christmas with my mom's family.  Savannah got lots of new books which she loves.

Christmas morning was a blast.  Savannah woke to find that Santa had eaten almost all the cookies she left him and drank all his chocolate milk.  She decided to help Santa finish eating the cookies.  The first gift she saw from Santa was a roller coaster.  This was a hit!  Santa could have just brought that and nothing else because we had a really hard time prying her away from it. We spent the rest of the morning opening presents and playing with all of Savannah's new toys.  It was a fun morning!  Next year will definitely be fun and interesting with a 3 year old and a 7 month old.

Christmas night we went to my brother's house to eat dinner and open gifts with he and his girlfriend and my mom.  And of course, Savannah got more toys.  She was so excited.  Elmo Live was the big thing but she is still not real sure about him.

Lastly, we spent Friday with Brian's dad and some of his cousins and Saturday with my dad.  And yes, she got MORE toys!  Where are we supposed to put all this stuff.?

All in all, we had a good Christmas spending time with family and friends.  We are truly blessed and above all thankful for the reason for the season.  Happy Birthday, Jesus!  We love You!

Savannah with Santa & Our Matching PJ's

So, we decided Friday night to take Savannah to see Santa Claus.  We opted out last year in fear that she would freak out.  I was concerned this year as well but Brian said we should at least give it a try.  We asked her before we left the house if she wanted to go see Santa and tell him what she wanted for Christmas.  She said yes and throughout dinner kept saying she was ready to go and see Santa and Merry Christmas.  Luckily, when we got to the mall there wasn't a long line but it was too long for Savannah.  She kept proclaiming, "It's my turn".  When it was finally our turn she bolted towards Santa, arms open wide, climbed into his lap and began talking to him like she had known him forever.  Santa actually had to motion for Brian and I to come closer because he couldn't understand what she was saying.  It was so cute and I was shocked that she did so well.  She is always surprising me.Savannah With Santa

My Mom and our friend Dee Dee started a tradition several years ago of buying identical Christmas pajamas every year.  We all wear them on Christmas Eve.  Of course when Savannah came along she had to be included.  It wasn't until this year however that she realized that we looked alike and thinks it is just too cool.  Thought I would share a picture.
